Bio

Megan Aiello enters her seventh year as Athletic Director at Spartanburg Methodist College. Under Aiello's leadership, SMC transitioned from junior college athletics to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). This move allowed SMC to offer four-year athletic opportunities to its student-athletes, aligning with the college's expansion into bachelor's degree programs. She has increased the sport offerings to include beach volleyball in 2024 and men's volleyball in 2026-27.

Before being named Athletic Director in 2018, Aiello spent five seasons as the Head Volleyball Coach for the Pioneers, where she compiled a 92-65 record and guided the 2016 & 2017 teams to a Region 10/17 Championship and runner-up in the District P Championship. She coached four Academic All-Americans and two All-District Team selections.

Prior to her return to Spartanburg Methodist College in 2013, Aiello served as the Head Volleyball Coach at Huntingdon College in Montgomery, AL. While at Huntingdon, Aiello compiled a six-year record of 90-101. She led the program to a 2010 regular season Great South Athletic Conference Championship and was awarded the Great South Athletic Conference Coach of the Year. Aiello coached 15 All Conference Selections, 6 All Freshmen, 36 All-Academic selections and the 2007 Libero of the Year.

During her time at Huntingdon, Aiello served as the Associate Athletic Director, Director of Compliance, Senior Woman Administrator, GSAC Volleyball Chair, and a member of the NCAA South Regional Advisory Committee.

Aiello began her coaching career at SMC in 2003. In three seasons, Aiello led the Pioneers to a 57-24 overall record and a 41-11 record in Region X play. She directed the 2003 Pioneer squad to a 23-5 record, a regular season Region X Championship, and was awarded the Region X Coach of the Year for her efforts. She produced 8 All-Region and 6 Region X All-Tournament team selections in her three-year stint.

Aiello earned her Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Anderson College in 2001 and Master of Arts in Education from Bluffton College in 2003.
