Campbell Claims Medalist Honors, Pioneers Finish Runner-Up at Koala Classic
Thomas Campbell fired a final-round 72 (+1) to capture individual medalist honors at the 2026 Koala Classic, finishing with a 36-hole total of 142 (E, 70-72) and leading the Spartanburg Methodist College men's golf team to a runner-up finish. Campbell is the third Pioneer to take home medalist honors in 2025-26, joining two-time winner Evan Cheek as well as AJ Bolin.
As a team, the Pioneers placed second with a 606 (290-316), finishing just one stroke behind fellow AAC member Montreat.
Campbell led four Pioneers who finished inside the top 35. Evan Cheek recorded a top-10 finish, tying for 10th at 150 (+8, 73-77). Tucker Simon placed tied for 20th with a 156 (+14, 73-83), while Kendall Howle finished tied for 33rd at 159 (+17, 74-85). AJ Bolin rounded out the "A" squad, tying for 55th with a 165 (+23, 81-84).
The Pioneers' "B" team placed 13th in the 19-team field. Lucas Johnson led the group, tying for 20th with a 156 (+14, 79-77). Jackson Welch followed closely, tying for 25th at 157 (+15, 71-86). Parker Harrigan finished tied for 46th with a 163 (+21, 83-80), while Bryson Paris (171, +29, 86-85) and Antonio Montenora (175, +33, 89-86) rounded out the lineup.
Spartanburg Methodist returns to action April 6-7 at the Northeast Tennessee Shootout, hosted at Johnson City Country Club in Johnson City, Tennessee, marking its final tune-up before the AAC Championships.
