SMC Men’s Golf Finishes 10th at East Tennessee Collegiate
The Spartanburg Methodist College men's golf team finished 10th at the East Tennessee Collegiate, posting a 36-hole total of 587 (+11, 296-291). Just nine strokes separated the next five teams ahead of the Pioneers.
Cumberlands (Ky.) captured the team title with a nine-stroke victory, recording a 573 (-23, 277-276). Maddox Butler of Walters State fired a final-round 64 on his way to the individual medalist honor, finishing at 131 (-13, 67-64) with a six-stroke margin.
Evan Cheek led SMC with a 36-hole total of 145 (+1, 74-71). His final-round 71 featured five birdies.
Two strokes back, Thomas Campbell tied for 27th at 146 (+2, 74-72), highlighted by five birdies in his closing round. Kendall Howle followed, tying for 36th at 148 (+4, 74-74), with birdies on the par-5 ninth and par-4 14th holes.
Rounding out the lineup, Parker Harrigan tied for 40th at 149 (+5, 74-75), finishing with a birdie on the par-4 18th. AJ Bolin tied for 44th at 150 (+6, 76-74), recording three birdies in his final round.
