Spartanburg, S.C. – Both teams created chances, but neither could break through as the Spartanburg Methodist College women's soccer team battled Reinhardt to a 0-0 draw on Wednesday.
Reinhardt (1-2-2, 1-0-2 AAC) controlled much of the possession, holding a 14-6 edge in shots. Haley Sturla led the Eagles with three attempts, including an 86th-minute strike that was turned away by the SMC goalkeeper.
Spartanburg Methodist (2-3-3, 0-2-2 AAC) was paced by Emmy Douglas, who recorded three shots. Douglas nearly put the Pioneers ahead in the 72nd minute, breaking free on goal before being denied by the Eagles' defense and goalkeeper Reagan Horton.
Pioneers goalkeeper Ava Wilson collected eight saves, marking her third-highest total of the season. SMC returns to action Saturday, traveling to Athens, Tenn., to face Tennessee Wesleyan at noon.
