Bolin’s 69, Simon’s Career Round Highlight UPIKE Invitational
PRESTONSBURG, Ky. – The Spartanburg Methodist College men's golf program sent two teams to the UPIKE Fall Invitational, with the "A" team finishing sixth at 895 (+43, 292-307-296) and the "B" team placing ninth at 923 (+71, 306-313-304).
The "A" team was led by Parker Harrigan and Thomas Campbell, who tied for 21st at +12. Harrigan moved up six spots in Tuesday's final round with a 73 that included three birdies. Campbell also recorded three birdies in the final round and totaled a team-best nine for the tournament. Kendall Howle finished 30th (+17, 76-75-79), while Evan Cheek placed 42nd (+22, 81-77-77). Rounding out the lineup, AJ Bolin contributed to the team score with an impressive final-round 69 that featured six birdies, four of them on the front nine.
The "B" team was paced by Tucker Simon and Andrew Walker, who tied for 27th. Simon made a 17-spot jump in the final round, carding a career-best 70 with four birdies and two eagles. Walker climbed five spots with a final-round 75 to finish +16 (75-79-75). Conner Requidan wrapped up his SMC debut with a tie for 35th, posting three straight rounds of 77 (+18). Antonio Montenora finished 46th at 237 (+24, 80-75-82), while Bryson Paris placed 53rd with a 249 (+36, 77-86-86).
Next up, the Pioneers will host the SMC Fall Invitational on Oct. 13-14 at Cherokee National Golf Club in nearby Gaffney.
