SMC Women Finish 15th at Lady Roadrunner Spring Invite
COHUTTA, Ga. – The Spartanburg Methodist College women's golf team finished 15th at the Lady Roadrunner Spring Invite on Tuesday. The field featured many of the top teams in the NAIA, including six ranked in the top 10.
The team competition was tightly contested, resulting in a three-way tie for first place between SCAD Savannah (No. 4), William Carey (No. 7), and host Dalton State (No. 2) at Nob North Golf Course. Each team posted a 54-hole total of 901 (+37).
The individual race was equally competitive, as Holly Lau of SCAD Atlanta carded a final-round 69 (-3) to finish with a 54-hole total of 218 (+2; 76-73-69). Lau climbed six spots from Monday's standings to secure a one-stroke victory.
For SMC, sophomore Adeline Todd led the Pioneers, moving up four spots to finish 71st with a 254 (82-91-81). Junior Melanie Meredith placed 77th with a 268 (87-91-90), while junior Isabella Marz finished 81st with a 283 (91-90-102).
Also contributing for the Pioneers, Gracelyn Toler moved up two spots to place 82nd with a 286 (96-97-93), and Tinsley McDaris finished 87th with a 358 (116-118-124).
