The Spartanburg Methodist College women's basketball team dropped a 65-46 decision to Reinhardt on Saturday afternoon.
The Pioneers (4-4, 0-3 AAC) were led by Destiny Middleton, who posted a team-high 11 points and added seven rebounds.
The Eagles (3-4, 2-0 AAC) were paced by a 17-point performance from Trea Blalock, who knocked down five 3-pointers to lead the visitors.
SMC opened strong, shooting 46.2% from the field and holding Reinhardt to 23.1% as the Pioneers took a 15-7 lead after the first quarter. The Eagles responded by outscoring SMC 19-6 in the second quarter to take a 26-21 lead into halftime. Reinhardt extended its advantage in the third, shooting 42.1% from the floor and limiting the Pioneers to just three field goals for the second straight quarter on its way to securing the win.
Next, SMC will travel to Dayton, Tennessee, to face AAC member Bryan on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. before the Thanksgiving break.
