SMC Women’s Golf Dominates UPIKE Fall Invitational
PRESTONSBURG, Ky. – The Spartanburg Methodist College women's golf team captured the UPIKE Fall Invitational in convincing fashion, winning by 36 strokes with a 36-hole total of 678 (346-332).
Three Pioneers – Isabella Marz, Adeline Todd, and Melanie Meredith – earned All-Tournament honors with third-, fourth-, and sixth-place finishes, respectively. Marz placed third with a 164 (+20, 81-83), followed by Todd in fourth with a 165 (+21, 85-80). Meredith rounded out the trio with a sixth-place finish at 172 (+28, 88-84).
Gracelyn Toler secured the first top-10 finish of her career, tying for eighth. She improved by seven strokes in Tuesday's final round, shooting 85 for a 36-hole total of 177 (+33, 92-85). Rounding out the lineup, Tinsley McDaris carded a 218 (+74, 111-107).
Next up, the Pioneers will host the SMC Fall Invitational on Oct. 13-14 at Cherokee National Golf Club in nearby Gaffney.
