Bluefield, VA - Host Bluefield jumped out to a 10–3 start and never looked back, rolling to a 99–65 victory over the Spartanburg Methodist College men's basketball team on Saturday.
The Pioneers (2–10, 1–6 AAC) were led by CJ Terrell, who recorded 15 points and five rebounds. Musa Muriithi added 11 points, while reserve Zenai Davis chipped in 10, giving SMC three players in double figures.
The Rams (2–10, 2–5 AAC) stretched the lead to double digits for good on a 3-pointer by Elijah White with 7:35 remaining in the first half. DJ McDonald paced the home team with 17 points and 17 rebounds as Bluefield placed four players in double figures. Shaft Clark scored 12 points, White finished with 11, and Ke'Shaun Tonsall added 10.
Bluefield shot 53.3 percent (40-of-75) from the field, knocked down 12 3-pointers, and held a commanding 55–36 rebounding advantage.
Spartanburg Methodist will wrap up play before the Christmas break with a non-conference matchup at Coastal Georgia on Tuesday, Dec. 16, with tipoff scheduled for 5 p.m. in Brunswick, Georgia.
