Campbell Leads Pioneers After Opening Rounds at UPIKE Fall Invite
PRESTONSBURG, Ky. – The Spartanburg Methodist College men's golf program sent two teams to compete at the UPIKE Fall Invite. After Monday's opening 36 holes, the "A" team (Thomas Campbell, Kendall Howle, Evan Cheek, Parker Harrigan, and AJ Bolin) sits in sixth place, while the "B" team (Antonio Montenora, Conner Requidan, Andrew Walker, Tucker Simon, and Bryson Paris) is in ninth.
Thomas Campbell leads the Pioneers individually, standing in 18th after posting back-to-back rounds of 74 (+3). He recorded six birdies on the day—four in the opening round and two in the second. Kendall Howle is tied for 25th after carding a 151 (76–75) with three birdies across his first 36 holes.
Third in the "A" lineup, Parker Harrigan is 27th overall. He fired the team's best round of the day with a 71 in the opening round before shooting an 81 in the second, finishing with three birdies. Evan Cheek provided the fourth score for SMC, posting a 158 (+16, 81–77) with four birdies to tie for 41st. AJ Bolin's day was cut short due to injury.
For the "B" squad, Andrew Walker and Conner Requidan led the way in 32nd place. Walker tallied six birdies and shot +12 (154, 75–79), while Requidan posted consistent rounds of 77–77 (+12) with three birdies in his SMC debut. Tucker Simon sits in 44th after carding a 159 (+17, 77–82) with four birdies. Bryson Paris shot a 163 (+21, 77–86), highlighted by three birdies.
Host Pikeville leads the team standings with a four-stroke advantage after finishing the day three-under par at 565 (285–280). The Bears are paced by co-leaders Jon Bryant and Kaeden Anderson, both at three-under. Anderson opened with a 65, while Bryant posted a 66 in his second round to hold a one-shot lead.
The final round will tee off Tuesday at 8:30 a.m.
