Cheek Captures Medalist Honors as SMC Men’s Golf Finishes Third at Fincastle Intercollegiate
Bluefield, Va. – Led by individual medalist Evan Cheek, the Spartanburg Methodist College men's golf team finished third at the 2025 Fincastle Intercollegiate.
Cheek claimed the individual title with a 138 (-2, 65-73), earning a four-stroke victory. As a team, SMC's "A" squad posted a 597 (293-304) to secure third place. Host Bluefield captured the tournament championship with a 579 (279-300), winning by 16 strokes.
On the "A" squad, Parker Harrigan, AJ Bolin, and Thomas Campbell each tied for 21st with a 153 (+13). Also competing was Kendall Howle, who carded back-to-back rounds of 81 in his SMC debut to tie for 47th.
The "B" squad was paced by Tucker Simon, who tied for 21st with a 153 (+13, 75-78). Bryson Paris tied for 36th after shooting a 158 (+18, 77-81), while Antonio Montenora tied for 40th with a 159 (+19, 77-82). In his SMC debut, Jackson Welch tied for 45th at 161 (+21, 78-83). Andrew Walker rounded out the group, tying for 54th with a 166 (+26, 85-81).
