Pioneers Sit Eighth After 36 Holes at AAC Championships
ADAIRSVILLE, GA – The Spartanburg Methodist College men's golf team sits in eighth place after 36 holes at the 2026 Appalachian Athletic Conference Championships on Monday.
The Pioneers posted a two-round total of 636 (+60), improving from a 320 in round one to a 316 in round two, in a field that includes four nationally ranked teams. Reinhardt, ranked No. 3 nationally, leads the tournament after carding a 593 (+17, 292-301), holding a nine-stroke advantage. Milligan's Francisco DeBethencourt tops the individual leaderboard at 145 (+1, 72-73).
SMC is paced by Evan Cheek, who is tied for 13th after shooting a 152 (+8, 75-77). Cheek recorded four birdies and 22 pars across his opening 36 holes. Close behind is Thomas Campbell, tied for 15th with a 153 (+9, 78-75), highlighted by three birdies and 22 pars. Their 22 pars are tied for the eighth-most in the field.
Tucker Simon is next for the Pioneers, sitting in 49th after a 165 (+21, 86-79), totaling three birdies and 15 pars. AJ Bolin follows with a 173 (+29, 83-90), recording four birdies and nine pars.
Kendall Howle competed in the opening round with an 84 (+12), while Parker Harrigan entered as a substitute in round two and posted an 85 (+13).
SMC returns to the course for the final round on Tuesday, with tee time set for 8:50 a.m.
