SMC Women's Golf Begins Play at AAC Championships

The Spartanburg Methodist College women's golf team sits in ninth place after Monday's opening round of the Appalachian Athletic Conference Championships at Governors Towne Club in Acworth, Georgia.

The field includes four teams ranked in the top 25 nationally: No. 6 SCAD Atlanta, No. 13 UPIKE, No. 21 Truett McConnell, and No. 25 Milligan.

SMC is led by Melanie Meredith, who carded a 94 with four pars and is tied for 30th individually. Adeline Todd follows in 35th after posting a 98 with a team-best five pars. Isabella Marz sits in 42nd after shooting a 104, while Tinsley McDaris rounds out the lineup in 47th with a 121.

The Pioneers will tee off in Tuesday's second round beginning at 1:30 p.m.
