SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Spartanburg Methodist College men's soccer team saw its first season of NAIA action come to an end with a 3-1 loss to visiting Florida College on Thursday afternoon.
The Pioneers (5-10-2) got its team-best seventh goal of the season from Brandon Porras in the 17th minute for the early lead. The seven goals by Porras are the most in a season since Victor Captillo also scored seven in 2022. In two seasons, Porras has scored 11 goals for the Pioneers.
The Falcons (7-7-2) Jhon Solis countered the Porras tally with a hat trick to spoil the season finale.
For SMC goalie Francesco Molinar made another save to give him 70 for the season and 178 for his career with the Pioneers.
