SMC Women's Golf Begins Play at 2025 CAC Golf Championships
Smithville, Mo. – The Spartanburg Methodist College women's golf team, who is playing with four freshman, is in fifth place after Monday's first round of the 2025 Continental Athletic Conference Championships. The Pioneers finished the day with a team score of 406 after 18 holes.
No. 38 Our Lady of the Lake University leads the team standings. They shot a 327 and hold a 14-shot lead over No. 27 Victoria (British Columbia). Individually, Ceci Lattauda from OLLU is in first place. She shot a 77 (+5) and leads by three strokes going into Tuesday's final round.
Melanie Meredith and Adeline Todd led SMC. Both are tied for 11th after shooting an 88 (+16). Meredith was just one shot away from her best round of the season. Todd recorded a birdie on the par 5, No. 9.
Isabella Marz also had a strong showing for SMC. She shot a 94 (+22) and made a birdie on the par 5, No. 11.
Mia Hansen rounded out the SMC team. Hansen, who also plays for the Pioneers women's basketball team, shot a 136 (+64). Her best holes were No. 10 and No. 12.
Tuesday's final round will begin at 9 a.m., with Hansen teeing off first for SMC.
