SMC Women’s Soccer Welcomes Assistant Coach Kennedy Dunnings
Spartanburg, S.C. – Spartanburg Methodist College head women’s soccer coach Debbie Pekel has announced the addition of Kennedy Dunnings as the program’s new Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach.
A former NCAA Division I standout at North Carolina State (2024) and Radford University (2019–2023), Dunnings begins her collegiate coaching career with the Pioneers. She appeared in 69 career matches with 58 starts, serving as a steady anchor on the defensive backline. She earned all-conference honors as both a sophomore and junior.
Beyond the field, Dunnings has experience mentoring through NCAA leadership conferences, Team IMPACT, and campus service initiatives. She brings a strong background in leadership, communication, and player development, and is passionate about supporting the holistic growth of student-athletes—athletically, academically, and personally through faith—while contributing to the continued success of SMC women’s soccer.
A native of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Dunnings was a standout at Kellam High School. She earned her bachelor’s degree in exercise science with a minor in sport management and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in business administration.
