Wilson Earns Second Team All-AAC Honors; Twelve Pioneers Named to All-Academic Team
SPARTANBURG, SC - The Appalachian Athletic Conference announced its women’s soccer postseason honors on Wednesday, with Spartanburg Methodist College standout Ava Wilson earning Second Team All-AAC recognition for her outstanding 2025 season.
Wilson, a sophomore goalkeeper from Greenville, S.C., was a steady force in goal for the Pioneers, playing 1,610 of a possible 1,620 minutes. She recorded seven shutouts and finished second in the conference with 136 saves. This marks the second postseason honor of her career after being named Honorable Mention All-Continental Athletic Conference in 2024.
Also recognized was junior CJ Hawkins of Travelers Rest, who earned a spot on the Champions of Character Team for exemplifying the NAIA’s five core values both on and off the field.
In addition, twelve Pioneers were named to the All-Academic Team for maintaining a cumulative grade-point average of 3.25 or higher: Kaylee Damsen, Abby Fisher, Sierra Gies, Laura Giraldo, Kacie Grijalva, Addie Hawkins, CJ Hawkins, Caitlin Lagos, Norma Reyes, Caroline Taylor, Grace White, and Ava Wilson.
