SMC Men’s Track & Field Sends Brown, Hunter and 4x100m Relay to 2026 NAIA Outdoor Championships
SPARTANBURG, SC – The Spartanburg Methodist College men’s track and field program has qualified two individual athletes—Romeo Brown and Ryan Hunter—as well as the 4x100m relay team for the 2026 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, scheduled for May 20–22 at Karl Straus Track in Asheville, North Carolina.
Brown will make his second appearance at the outdoor national championships, competing in the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash, and as a member of the 4x100m relay team. He enters the meet as the NAIA national leader in the 100m (10.16) and ranks eighth nationally in the 200m (20.96).
Earlier this year, Brown also earned NAIA All-American honors indoors with a third-place finish in the 200m, becoming the program’s first track and field All-American at the NAIA level.
Hunter will be making his first appearance at the NAIA Outdoor Championships in track and field. He previously competed at the NAIA Men’s Cross Country Championships in November, where he placed 72nd nationally.
He will compete in the 5,000-meter run, entering the championship with the 18th-fastest qualifying time in the field at 14:34.95.
