SMC Men's Track & Field Student-Athletes Honored for Academic and Character Excellence
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) has officially announced the All-Academic and Champions of Character Teams for the 2026 men's and women's track & field season, highlighting several standout performers from Spartanburg Methodist College (SMC).
The SMC men’s track and field program saw six student-athletes named to the All-Academic Team. To qualify for this prestigious honor, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore in standing and maintain a cumulative grade-point average of 3.25 or higher.
The following Pioneers were recognized for their dedication in the classroom:
- Parker Balog
- Ryan Hunter
- Calvin Kowalke
- Dylan Seppala
- Steven Strange
- Caleb Williams
In addition to academic success, the AAC also recognized individuals who embody the core values of the NAIA Champions of Character program: integrity, respect, responsibility, servant leadership, and sportsmanship.
Freshman Kaleb Shockley was selected by the coaching staff to represent the SMC men’s track and field team on the Champions of Character Team for his exemplary leadership and commitment to these values.
