Seven PRs for SMC Men's Track and Field at Montreat Open
Montreat, N.C. – The Spartanburg Methodist College men's track and field team set seven personal records (PRs) and a season-best over the course of two days at the Montreat Open.
Among the highlights was Romeo Brown, who won the 100m dash with a time of 10.85. Teammates Parker Balog and Javion Brannon finished ninth (11.20) and 11th (11.22), respectively. Brown also set a PR with a runner-up finish in the 200m dash with a time of 21.95—just 0.07 seconds off the 10-year-old school record of 21.88.
The 4x100m relay team of Parker Balog, Romeo Brown, Javion Brannon, and Jared Chinloy placed third with a season-best time of 43.39.
Caleb Williams set a PR in the 800m with a 12th-place finish in 2:03.34, while Dylan Seppala also set a PR with a time of 2:06.25.
The SMC mixed 4x400m relay team of Parker Balog, Sophia Outhous, Caleb Williams, and Polly Addington took second with a time of 3:53.04.
