Three Pioneers Earn All-CAC Recognition
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Three members of the Spartanburg Methodist College softball team received All-Conference recognition from the Continental Athletic Conference on Thursday.
Lydia Faulk, a sophomore from Lexington, S.C., was named to the First Team. Kyla Quiles, a junior from Mount Airy, Georgia, and Adriana Stump-Frias, a junior from Deltona, Florida, were named to the Second Team. The Pioneers concluded their first season of NAIA competition with a 23–17 overall record.
Faulk, the Pioneers' primary third baseman, appeared in 39 games and posted a .319 batting average with 22 hits, six RBIs, six stolen bases, and 11 runs scored.
Quiles, a key member of the SMC pitching staff, recorded a 10–5 record in 13 appearances, including seven complete games. She led the team with 109 innings pitched and ranked second on the team with 63 strikeouts.
Stump-Frias, who patrolled the outfield for the Pioneers, hit .363 with eight home runs, 27 runs scored, and 26 RBIs. She totaled 41 hits, including nine doubles and two triples, and added 14 stolen bases.
