Bio
Morgan Blackmon is in her first season as assistant coach at Spartanburg Methodist College. Blackmon arrives at SMC following coaching, player development, and instructional stops at the high school, travel, and collegiate levels.
Blackmon joins the Pioneers after gaining extensive softball experience serving as an assistant coach at Columbia College, the Bandits NC travel organization, and the Lady Dukes organization underneath James Lamar, husband of the Duke University Softball Head Coach. During her time in the travel ranks with the NC Bandits and the Lady Dukes, she was actively involved in hitting instruction, mental training, and strength and conditioning, while recruiting and training elite softball talent.
Blackmon also brings a diverse background in athletics and education, previously serving as a physical education teacher at Lancaster Christian Academy, a high school softball coach at Lancaster High School, and an athletic programmer for Lancaster Parks & Recreation. Committed to community impact, Blackmon has also volunteered her time with the Special Olympics and the Miracle League, alongside training individuals as a certified personal trainer.
A graduate of Charleston Southern University, Blackmon earned her bachelor’s degree and holds a personal trainer certification through the American College of Sports Medicine.
