Donivan Dyson Named Assistant Women's Basketball Coach at Spartanburg Methodist
Spartanburg, S.C. – Donivan Dyson has joined Spartanburg Methodist College as an assistant coach, head coach Reid Walling announced on Thursday.
Donivan Dyson brings a strong background in player development and competitive experience to the program. Over the past year, she has served as a private and team youth skills trainer with Team SSB (formerly the Georgia Jaguars), specializing in shooting, ball handling, and footwork.
A standout player at Keiser University, Dyson earned back-to-back All-Conference honors while playing under current SMC head coach Reid Walling—First Team All-Conference as a senior and Second Team as a junior. In her senior season, she capped her collegiate career by finishing with the most points (480) and most field goals made (185) in a single season.
Following her collegiate success, Dyson played semi-professional basketball with the Atlanta Legends in the WABA and AEBL from 2019 to 2022 before transitioning to training and coaching full-time.
