SMC’s Musa Muriithi Earns CSC Academic All-District Recognition
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Teams for men’s basketball across all three NCAA divisions and the NAIA were announced Tuesday, with Spartanburg Methodist College represented by redshirt freshman guard Musa Muriithi.
Muriithi appeared in 27 games this season, making 25 starts for the Pioneers. He averaged 10.7 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game, emerging as one of the top freshmen in the Appalachian Athletic Conference.
To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must compete in at least 90 percent of their team’s contests or start 66 percent, while maintaining a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50.
The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially funded through the NAIA governance structure.
