SMC Women Set 10 PRs and Kinlaw Sets New Mark in 100m Hurdles
The Spartanburg Methodist College women's track and field team recorded 10 PRs and one school record at the Southside Power and Fitness Invitational, hosted by Lenoir-Rhyne in Hickory, North Carolina.
The Pioneers were led by sophomore Da'Sani Kinlaw, who broke her own school record with a PR in the 100-meter hurdles, clocking a time of 15.71. She eclipsed her previous mark by 0.33 seconds and secured a spot in the AAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Kinlaw also posted an AAC Championship qualifying time of 1:10.79 in the 400-meter hurdles, the second-fastest mark in program history.
Freshman Jayla Bivings recorded a pair of PRs in the 100-meter hurdles (16.02) and the 200-meter dash (28.70). Fellow freshman De'Nasia Robinson added a PR in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.92, while sophomore Tieranny Jeter set a PR in the 400-meter dash (1:06.36).
The Pioneers also notched three PR performances in the 800-meter run, led by Polly Addington (2:43.61), followed by Nsimire Bahongwehre (2:48.98) and Gabby Jarvis (2:50.41).
In the field events, Anna Altman recorded a PR in the javelin with a throw of 62-9 on Friday.
The Pioneers will compete in one final meet before the AAC Championships as they travel to the 2026 Golden Bulls Invitational on Friday, April 17, at Johnson C. Smith University's Irwin Belk Complex in Charlotte.
