Byrd, Relays Power Pioneers at River City Relays
The Spartanburg Methodist College women's track and field team traveled to Jacksonville for the 2026 Hampton Inn River City Relays, competing in its second outdoor meet of the season.
Freshman Carson Byrd clocked a time of 12.52 in the preliminaries of the 100-meter dash, securing a spot at the 2026 AAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Her mark ranks as the third-fastest time in program history.
Sophomore Da'Sani Kinlaw also qualified for the AAC Championships, posting a time of 1:12.44 in the 400-meter hurdles.
In the field events, freshman Mckensley Parks placed fifth in the discus with a throw of 97-2 (29.61m).
Byrd and Kinlaw teamed with De'Nasia Robinson and Eva Sapp in the 4x100-meter relay, where the quartet set a new school record with a time of 49.78.
The 4x400-meter relay team of Kinlaw, Sapp, Robinson, and Polly Addington finished eighth, recording the third-fastest time in program history at 4:24.49.
On Friday, Polly Addington added a fifth-place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, posting a personal-record time of 15:06.76.
