SMC Men’s Cross Country Earns AAC Academic and Champion of Character Honors

SPARTANBURG, SC / WALESKSA, GA - The Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) recently announced its 2025 Men’s Cross Country All-Academic and Champions of Character teams, with several Spartanburg Methodist College student-athletes earning recognition.

Five members of the Pioneers were named to the AAC All-Academic Team: Ryan Hunter, Calvin Kowalke, Dylan Seppala, Steven Strange, and Caleb Williams. To qualify, student-athletes must be a sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.25 or higher.

In addition, Steven Strange, a junior from Inman, was selected to the AAC Champions of Character Team. Strange was nominated by his coach for best exemplifying the NAIA’s five core values: integrity, respect, responsibility, servant leadership, and sportsmanship.
