SMC Softball Helps Clean up Neighborhood

The Spartanburg Methodist College Softball team went around the SMC campus and surrounding neighborhood and cleaned up trash and debris Monday March 20th for over two hours.

Coach Friz mentioned the girls went all the way down to the elementary school and back up, went the complete circle of Powell Mill Rd, over by the church and textile mill and even on the campus picking up around the baseball and softball fields.
"In all we collected over four 55 gallon trash bags full of junk around the neighborhood.  I always drive in to work and look at the neighborhood wondering what if I have a recruit come in again from California, what would they think about seeing all this trash around the neighborhood?  That's when I decided we needed to do something about the stuff outside of our campus." said Head Softball Coach Jeff Frizzell.
